I love it when talented artists who are new to me reach out to this website. We really are living in a golden age of intelligent musical talent, and I am extremely pleased to be able to review a brand new single, How I Caught the Moon (which, incidentally, will also be played on my radio show at www.progzilla.com this coming Saturday, starting at 16:00 UK time) by Jamie Parker, a talented musician who has played with Robbie Mcintosh, Ronnie Wood, Imelda May, Chanel Haynes, Lola Leng-Taylor, Ben Waters, Tom Waters, Ian Jennings, Derek Nash and Nick Capaldi. That is a serious list, so it follows that we must respect this artist and this single which is now available across all streaming platforms – pop along to https://jamieparker.biz/links.html

Before we discuss this song, a note that an album is planned for release in early May, and I will be sure to bring a review of this to you. Think of this single, then, as the hors d'oeuvre before the main delight, and I am seriously looking forward to it.

Further, the sleeve of this is quite evocative, also promising something special in the art department.

I think this lovely piece of music will strongly appeal to classic progressive rock fans. There is a sense of the Floyd and Wilson to this very well performed and produced song. The guitar work is exceptionally strong (the solo five minutes in is a dextrous delight), whilst the soundscapes created are full and rich. Parker has a powerful voice, with some emotional punch behind it, especially when he cries that “you are so far away”, this leading the closing passage, full of emotional noise, fine modern progressive rock.

A very pleasant surprise, which I think you will all be happy to place on your playlists before hopefully supporting the forthcoming album.
