Swedish progsters Prehistoric Animals return a year after releasing Finding Love in Strange Places, an interesting work I reviewed on release. See my review by hitting on the button below.

They have brought out a new single, Stupidity for Beginners, a song filled with strong anti-war sentiment. You can get it for a “name your price” offer at https://prehistoricanimals.bandcamp.com/track/stupidity-for-beginners

The band are spot on when they describe human society as being ruled by an ever-increasing number of “stupid” people, and, indeed, I think the western world is now facing a crisis of democracy and economy as a result of imbecilities perpetrated by our elected leaders and the establishment behind them, not to mention our incredulity in believing them in the first place.

From the off, we have a delicious blast, riffs, rhythm section crunching, with keyboards creating a fine soundscape. There is a fine balance here between naked aggression and progressive sensibilities, the vocals especially scorching.

The band with this single has continued the fine work of last year’s full album, and if this is a taster for a pending new album, bring it on.
