Preparing for these awards takes quite a lot of refreshing, research, preparation, etc. There will inevitably be lists written down for the contenders vying for each award.

That Siege from Imaginaerium had two tracks vying for the “track of the year” shows the quality of that release.

When My Eyes Are Closed wins my award for dedication of the year, and I was fortunate enough to have met the target of this deeply moving song by Clive Nolan, namely his mother. the song, per my review, details the descent of a loved one into a condition which is challenging, the siege of a mind once sharp and urgent, but still displaying the spark of old, that sense of self and love. Intelligent music brought into a real-life situation and done with such sensitivity. The vocal interpretation by Laura Piazzai is simply stunning, the voice of a supremely talented musician working so closely with one of the most influential progressive rock composer and musician of recent years.
